Rebecca Groves has a friend who is urgently in need of furniture! Do you have any you could spare or no longer need?

Please see Rebecca for details.

12 in 12 group
     (01 January 2012)

How many people did you meaningfully share the gospel with in 2011. By that I do not mean you told them you were a Christian or that you went to church.

How many people did you actually explain the gospel to and then challenged them to repent and believe in Jesus. 1 or 2 or maybe 4 or 5?

12 in 12 is a commitment to share the gospel with one person a month in 2012.

We will form a group that will meet after the service on the first Sunday of the month to pray, encourage and hold each other accountable to this goal.

There will also be a special forum on Mingle where we can post updates and prayer requests throughout each month.

Are you willing to commit to this challenge?

Thank You
     (01 January 2012)

The Core Team wish to thank all those who contributed to the 'Consider Christmas' fund.

We raised the grand total of £550 so were able to bless nine deserving households with it ranging from a washing machine, new flooring and various hampers in accordance with nominations and needs received.

May the Lord bless all those who gave so generously.

Community Action Day
     (Posted 31 October 2011)

Community Action Day

Bodmin Town Council and Bodmin Community Church joined forces on Saturday 29 October 2011 and carried out a very successful daffodil planting event on Beacon Road. The group planted somewhere in the region of 100kg of daffodils along the roadside on Beacon Road opposite Celtic Produce.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ken Stubbs commented “This is a fantastic example of partnership working between the Council and a local community group with the added benefit of brightening up a highly visible area of the town with an impressive daffodil display”.

Richard Powell, Pastor of Bodmin Community Church, was extremely pleased that the first joint venture between the Council and the Church had been such a success. “It was really good for the church to have the opportunity not just to talk about the good news but to be good news by doing something practical out in the community”, he said. “We hope to have many more opportunities as a church to be a blessing to Bodmin in the future”.

Special thanks are also due to Bodmin Market and Celtic Produce who provided hot drinks and homemade cakes which were greatly appreciated by the volunteers who had worked on the planting.

Request from Bodmin Mayor
     (25 September 2011)

We have been approached by the Mayor, Ralph Solomons, who thought of BCC as a possible means to help out with a practical problem he has with the charity Age Concern.

He is looking for a volunteer to help elderly people on and off of the Age Concern bus on Tuesdays between 9am and 2pm.

This is required by law and very shortly the Driver isgoing to be short of thecurrent help.

The bus stops outside Shire House to drop off those who have been picked up for their meeting and meal in the Suite.

If anyone can help please call the Mayor’s wife, Nola Solomons, on: 01208 74609

Consider Christmas
     (17 September 2011)

A fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the love of Jesus this Christmas.

We would like to encourage you to join in with our Christmas saving scheme that is all about helping others.

Each week bring along whatever you can afford and put it in the red box inside one of the envelopes marked “Consider Christmas”.

Then at start of December we would like you to nominate people who you think would benefit from help this Christmas. It may be through giving help to pay some bills, buying Christmas presents for children or just blessing someone with a Christmas hamper from the church.
