Bodmin Community Church (BCC) is situated in the heart of Cornwall. The church was formed when some members of Grace Community Church in Morval, near Looe, met as a local 'Community Group' and began praying passionately for God to establish a new work in the town of Bodmin.
Grace Community Church (GCC) has also planted another daughter church in Torpoint, near Plymouth and as part of this 'Grace family' of churches, BCC is committed to maintaining its strong relationship with both GCC (Morval) and TCC (Torpoint). All three churches benefit from each other through pooling their resources and fostering a 'stronger together' attitude of support.
Our first official church service in Bodmin took place on Sunday 4th November 2007 at Robartes Junior School, kindly offered to us as a venue by Headmaster, Mr Ewan Murray. The picture above shows the church outside the entrance to the school and was taken just before our very first church service by Peter Glaser Photography, St Breward.
In January 2008 we started holding weekly Sunday morning services with a committed children's ministry running during the worship using classroom areas provided by the school.
In September of 2008, Richard Powell was selected by a panel set up by Grace Community Church to appoint a new Associate Pastor with a specific responsibility over the Bodmin church plant. Richard, together with this wife Alison and their four children, accepted the challenge and moved to Bodmin from Bristol where Richard had completed his theological training.
